Here is where you’ll find everything you need to know about family photography. From tiny tots to teens and everything in between and the family teams. Photography is not just about the here and now, it’s our window to the past, to all those tiny moments that would otherwise be forgotten.

As a child, I couldn’t wait for the photos to come back from trueprint or bonusprint (other printing retailers were available) to see what had come out, all the laughs captured, the treasured memories. I still love looking back on them now, even if I do cringe at the choice 80’s ensembles, that was us, my family, in all its natural glory.

Family

Capturing children belly laughing, sibling cuddles, toddlers legging it and special bonds in families honestly brings me such joy. The aim of my photography is to capture you, just you. No props, no gimmicks, no flash, just you. For me personally, there’s nothing worse than trying to force a baby into a large bucket or fancy dress, to unnecessarily pose them to get that perfectly manicured shot, to have stark backgrounds in an impersonal place that is completely forgettable. I use only natural light, in a space you are familiar and comfortable with, to ensure I capture the true essence of your family. So when you look back in years to come you’ll remember that special moment in this wonderful, chaotic life as it truly was, as you truly were.

As a Mum myself now, I know how quickly children grow and change, even in just a matter of weeks! It’s hard to make it through a hot beverage let alone to remember to get your camera or phone out to take a photo! That’s where I come in. My relaxed, informal approach will take the pressure off completely. Even the most camera shy of people will have an enjoyable experience. I am there to capture you and your family, naturally and as you are.

My aim is always to capture you and your love ones as you are, completely natural and beautiful.
We will go on a little adventure, climb along fallen trees, look for bugs, splash in puddles or throw leaves. Capture all the giggles and wonderful chaos of family life.
For the extra little ones, there will be warm snuggles captured, kisses and calm, baby yawns and stares which can be in the comfort of your own home or outdoors.
The shoot will be what we make it, together. Showing your love for each other and most importantly having fun as you let me have a little glimpse into your world.
The most important thing I always say when having a family photoshoot is to make sure you’re all comfortable and dressed for the weather. Some clients want a neutral aesthetic and so will dress everyone in earthy tones, but that’s entirely up to you, after all, they’re your photos that you’ll be putting up on the wall!
For the little ones, a change of clothes is a good idea as well as layers. It makes for a much more enjoyable time if the little ones are comfy. Oh, and plenty of snacks to keep them going!
I will head home and load all your images onto my laptop, the most exciting part!
I will then edit and retouch each chosen image individually to a high resolution.
A ‘sneak peak’ will be posted on my social media accounts.
You will receive your final gallery of images (minimum 20) to your email inbox within 2 weeks.
Living in the UK, rain is always a possibility. I’m happy to shoot still if you are as long as it isn’t a storm or unsafe to. If you’d rather postpone then that’s fine with me. For the really little ones, it’s best to wait until it’s dry. If extreme weather is forecast then I will be in touch with you prior to our shoot.
I cover all of Devon for family and maternity shoots.
It happens! Having a little one myself, I COMPLETELY understand how unpredictable they can be in terms of getting sick. It can be stressful enough without having to worry about rushing them to a photoshoot! If that was ever the case, then there are always other days/times/dimensions when we can rearrange for - I'd much rather your little bundles be happy, healthy and full of smiles.
YAAAAAAAAAAAS! AMAZING! Let’s do this! I do a little happy dance when a family entrusts me to capture their special moments.
