Here is where you’ll find everything you need to know about newborn photography. Those first hazy days and weeks go by in a flash and those newborn snuggles quickly make way for crawling, toddling and finding their way. Photography is not just about the here and now, it’s our window to the past, to all those tiny moments that would otherwise be forgotten.

As a child, I couldn’t wait for the photos to come back from trueprint or bonusprint (other printing retailers were available) to see what had come out, all the laughs captured, the treasured memories. I still love looking back on them now, even if I do cringe at the choice 80’s ensembles, that was us, my family, in all its natural glory.

Newborn

Capturing the first few weeks of a newborn babies life honestly is such an honour. The aim of my photography is to capture you, just you. No props, no gimmicks, no flash, just you. For me personally, there’s nothing worse than trying to force a baby into a large bucket or fancy dress, to unnecessarily pose them to get that perfectly manicured shot, to have stark backgrounds in an impersonal place that is completely forgettable. I use only natural light, in your home, to ensure I capture the true essence of your family. So when you look back in years to come you’ll remember that special moment in this wonderful, chaotic life as it truly was, as you truly were.

As a Mum myself now, I know how quickly children grow and change, even in just a matter of weeks! It’s hard to make it through a hot beverage let alone to remember to get your camera or phone out to take a photo! That’s where I come in. My relaxed, informal approach will take the pressure off completely. Even the most camera shy of people will have an enjoyable experience. I am there to capture your family, naturally and as you are.

Scrunchy legs, tight grips, sleepy days, big yawns and poonamis. It’s all chaos and utterly magical.

For these extra little ones, there will be warm snuggles captured, kisses and calm, baby yawns and stares in the comfort of your own home.
In the early days you have so much to think about, let alone having to bring everything out with you for a photoshoot. That’s why I will come to you, taking the stress of not having everything you need with you away.
Using only natural light and your familiar surroundings will make sure our shoot is calm, capturing the stillness and being at one with your tiniest new addition.
Siblings are welcome and, being at home, can come and go as they please! We can create magic in capturing the every day.
The most important thing I always say when having a photoshoot is to make sure you’re all comfortable. Some clients want a neutral aesthetic and so will dress everyone in earthy tones, but that’s entirely up to you, after all, they’re your photos that you’ll be putting up on the wall!
For the tiny ones, a change of clothes is a good idea. Often the simplest outfits are best, just a vest or nappy and wrapped in a blanket to keep them cosy.
I will head home and load all your images onto my laptop, the most exciting part!
I will then edit and retouch each chosen image individually to a high resolution.
A ‘sneak peak’ will be posted on my social media accounts.
You will receive your final gallery of images (minimum 20) to your email inbox within 2 weeks.
Come rain or shine, my indoor shoots go ahead whatever the weather. That’s the beauty of them!
I cover all of Devon for newborn, family and maternity shoots.
It happens! Having a little one myself, I COMPLETELY understand how unpredictable they can be in terms of getting sick. It can be stressful enough without having to worry about having a photoshoot! If that was ever the case, then there are always other days/times/dimensions when we can rearrange for - I'd much rather your little bundles be content and healthy.
